Atlanta Sessions Vol. 2
Scott Burland and dRachEmUsiK
Theremin and Electronic Wind Instrument are the primary instruments used to create this spontaneous sonic journey.
Recorded in 2012 between the afternoon of November 12th and the morning of the 13th, there was very little planning regarding approach, structure, instrumentation or style. We would talk, share about our lives, eat, go to the market, sleep and in-between sit down and make music.
The end result was a musical conversation between elements of our unconscious; a dream-world mirror of the surrounding shared conscious reality.
Close your eyes, relax and experience what these simple yet emotionally rich dialogs have to say to you.
Paladin Tarantella
Begins with raindrops, or
is it snow? Neither, though
brief preparation and not a lot
of discussion seem to overcome
the scent of bourbon and ginger beer.
The Blurred Hand
Sometimes ideas come in waves, and
transform before your ears into something
completely different than you imagined.
Where there is no control, there is also some control.
A slippery slope.
Chattel Cross
Bright light this time, yet darkest of all.
This deep space shimmers.
Cascading water soars
A death into the light
in a room painted blue.
The Atlanta Sessions are a series of five collaborations between Atlanta musicians, Klimchak, Scott Burland, Frank Schultz, Duo for Theremin and Lap Steel, Kevin Haller, Barbara Vesey Johnson and Indianapolis based dRachEmUsiK.
The recordings took place in 2012 between November 9th and November 18th in Atlanta.
Recorded November 12th thru 13th, 2012 in the magic bunny room at Jolson's Pride.
